Bowlers
Whether you are in your early 50's, or almost ready to celebrate
a century, you're never too old to bowl a 300! In order to stay in the game and
bowl the best score, many seniors find that they need to make a few technique
and equipment adjustments.
Before you hit the bowling alleys, check out our Bowlers Depot

Before you hit the bowling alley…
Tip: Ball Weight
Sure, you may have been able to sling around a 16 pound ball back in the day
without a sore muscle or a shortness of breath, but now that time has caught
up with your game you may be finding it difficult to roll the same amount of
weight down the lane. A few mistakes many seniors make is selecting the proper
ball weight.
Balls that are a few pounds too heavy could summon a bad case
of arthritis, rheumatism or pain from previous injuries, while balls that are
too light may cause a bowler to swing flat and uncontrollably, resulting in
poor direction and lack of speed and pin hitting power.
In order for senior bowlers to reach their full bowling
potential, it is important to select a ball that will swing comfortably for
three straight games. If you notice that you tire during the third game, or if
your scores consistently decrease in the last game, you know that your ball is
controlling your game, and not you.
Because higher performance balls only come in heavy weights,
the
Brunswick Power Groove Combo is perfect for the senior bowler looking to
advance their game. The
Brunswick Power Groove features a strong hooking cover stock and excellent
hitting power at a reasonable price. The ball is available in weights 10-16
lbs., designed for senior bowlers who need to drop down in ball weight but not
their performance.
