For more than 25 years, Bowlers Depot Online founder and owner, Jim Lewis, has been an active part of the bowling industry nationwide. Deciding after high school that he wanted to be a competitive bowler, Lewis started off strong, joining the San Diego State University bowling team, and remaining a member for six years. During the six years of being on the SDSU team, Lewis helped the team rank in the nation's top 10 collegiate teams.

In 1984 Lewis was awarded the title of Southern California Junior Bowler of the Year and in 1989 he was titled PBA's Western Regional Rookie of the Year. Lewis also coached teams at collegiate levels, he was considered a USA bowling silver level instructor, he was a Ritger Academy Level 3 Instructor, Professional Bowler's Association (PBA) member, and much more.
